What an achievement! Sheila Brooks, Ph.D., President, Founder and CEO of SRB Communications was honored on Wednesday, October 28 during the Capital Region Minority Supplier development Council’s 23th Annual Leaders and Legends Awards Ceremony and Gala with the Council’s Advocate of the year Award. This accolade recognizes exemplary advocacy of Minority and Women-Owned Business Enterprises (M/WBEs) and represents Dr. Brooks’ continued efforts and advocacy work over more than two decades, and in particular, this past year, supporting minority entrepreneurs to grow sustainable and profitable enterprises.

“I’m humbled by this esteemed honor and will continue my diligent work in the minority business community” said Brooks. “I applaud all of the ware winner who are wealth creators who invigorate our economy by creating jobs in our communities, our region and our nation”.

In her roles as president of the President’s Roundtable and a board member of the Greater Baltimore Committee, and as a sought after speaker who testified before U.S. Congress and the Maryland General Assembly, Dr. Brooks has worked diligently to create forums that provide knowledge, skills and resources for their minority business development and growth. Dr. Brooks has testified before the Maryland Senate on minimum wage and sick leave legislation and has participated in panel discussions with members of U.S. congress on federal government corporate procurement opportunities.
