A product of The Baltimore City (Vocational) school system, Calvin Mims, after graduation, became an electrical apprentice under the IBEW/NECA Joint Apprenticeship Program. After completing the apprenticeship program and working for several years as a journeyman wireman and supervisor, Mr. Mims started Calmi Electrical Company, Inc. Under Mr. Mims’ leadership Calmi Electrical Company, Inc. has developed into one of the most honorable electrical contracting firms in the Baltimore Metropolitan Area. Calmi Electrical Company, Inc. has completed installations on some of the most notable projects in this area, such as M & T Bank Stadium, Orioles Park Stadium, Christopher Columbus Center, Baltimore Museum of Art and The Reginald Lewis African American Museum. Mr. Mims holds membership in The National Electrical contractors Association, The Building Congress and Exchange, The American Subcontractors Association and The Electric League.
